The Chingford and District Model Engineering Club was formed in January 1945 with the aim of promoting model engineering in all of its forms. From our humble beginnings, the club has grown over the last 70+ years and now operates 2 passenger pulling railways every Sunday between April and October.  Our passenger pulling services take place on our 2 railways which we designed, built and maintain ourselves. Our railways are “the ground level track” which has both 7 ¼ and 5 inch track and the “the raised track” which has 5 inch and 3 ½ inch track. These tracks complete with live signalling and points make us one of the most unique clubs out there and an experience that should never be missed! We are located in Ridgeway Park in Chingford  (North East London) where we operate a variety of steam, petrol and electric locomotives which we build, maintain and operate on a regular basis thanks to our dedicated volunteers who work to ensure the railway is always ready to run!
