The Raised Track was the first built in the 1950's, and was the clubs first ever track. Today it is 1000 feet long with fully automatic colour signalling. The club owns a variety of locos and rolling stock for this track.

This track is dual gauge (3½ & 5 inch) and is 1000 feet long, equipped with fully automatic colour signalling, which enables several trains to be on the track together, on public running Sundays there can be as many as three trains running at the same time.

Ridgeway Station is the normal operating location for this track, but when the Ground Level Track is also in use, Willow Tree Halt is used to avoid members of the public having to cross the working Ground Level line to get to the station platform. Such an event can occur during special days such a Chingford Day.

Club’s locomotives for this track include ‘Coal Fired Steam’, ‘Petrol’ and ‘Electric’ powered engines.

This track is used more often for the the Sunday Afternoon public running sessions than the ground level track.

Locomotives

The club owns several locomotives which are often seen running at the club on the public running days. Most club locomotives have guardians who look after them, carrying out general maintenance tasks and repairs.
